WRITERS – For Miles Media, which is casting for its second season of freelance web personalities for visitflorida.com, Florida’s official travel-planning website with more than 11 million unique visitors a year. We need diverse and enthusiastic Floridians (or long-time Florida residents) who know and love Florida, and who can develop an online following around their interests. Our current categories include Beach, Family, Outdoors, Adventure, Golf, Boating & Fishing, Arts & Culture, and Authentic/Off-beat Florida. We may add more categories later this year, such as Florida 101, Luxury, Romance, or Small Groups & Gatherings. Our Experts are freelance writers who create content in all forms of media in conjunction with staff editors. These activities include concepting and writing feature stories, taking photos, and creating online trips. The experts also concept, write scripts, and host videos. Write blog posts and interact with our online community for about eight hours a week (depending on the area of expertise). In addition, you may represent Visit Florida at travel industry trade shows. Contracts will begin in July and last for one year. Send web links to your sample stories, personal blogs, video clips, photos, and other online content. Put “VF Expert” in the subject line and indicate your area(s) of expertise. Deadline is May 23.
